Week 30! Good News from Newport News!
Congratulations to those who competed in the "Spring Fling" in Newport News this past weekend. Special note goes to Kaitlyn Godsey, Jon Roach, and Henry Roach for obtaining new "BB" time standards. Kaitlyn swam to three in 50 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, and 100 backstroke. Jon was successful in 50 backstroke and 100 breaststroke.Henry, swimming 100 butterfly, was able to swim a 1:17.10 giving him a "BB" time standard.
Other personal time improvements and great swims were reported by: Alex Dixon, Rachel Miller, Amanda Casella, Tyler Daughtry, Erin Hunt (new "B" time), Kye Pendleton, and Danny Stublen.
This was a fun meet that mixed the normal break up of age group swimming. It gave those that were swimming this season on the young side of their age group to compete as the oldest giving them an advantage.
Please note that our club will take a break over the public school spring break April 14- April 23. Regular practice schedule will resume on Monday, April 24. We are looking forward to our first OBX SC Friday "Beach Day" to be held after spring break.
